Using all wooden materials is normally the cheapest option for a deck being built today. This wood is pressure treated and meant to used for exterior projects.
Some materials, such as composite decking or aluminum railings can increase the cost of a deck build substantially. The reason being is the material is more expensive than wood and takes more time, care, and attention to detail when installing them.

Building a deck on piers can also increase the price of a custom deck substantially. Depending on what the building code says and what the design of the deck will be.  Floating decks on the other hand, require concrete blocks, which allows the deck to free stand on the surface of the ground.
